I packed this in my laptop bag on a recent business trip, and it made the trip much more productive. I was able to work on my laptop for the 90-minute trip from the airport to the hotel, and the laptop charged a good bit as well.

The adapter is rated to draw 10 amps, and at about 13.8V nominal running car voltage and 90% efficiency (fairly typical for a switching DC-DC converter) it should be able to provide 125W to your laptop device. I've only tested it with my lower-power x120e, but there should be plenty of headroom to run a workstation-replacement laptop on it as well--or at least make it drain the battery slower.
