When my OEM charger fell apart, I went to my local "Depot" for a generic. Some adapters were selling on a retail level in excess of the residual value of the very laptop I was trying to power. Ridiculous. Of course I went online, which led me to this charger. Less shipping, It was priced at nearly the state tax on the aforementioned, high priced local replacement. In any case the generic 90W arrived in a few days and is providing the power that I am using to write this review. Simple and cheap. How do you top that? Guess the big box stores have hefty overhead. Nevertheless, if they cant' figure out a way to compete with a more reasonable scale of pricing, they'll end up in the same useless pile with my now defunct OEM power adapter. Thanks Amamzon!

Zero stars!!! My cord that originally came with my ipod touch stopped working and I didn't want to pay $15-$30 for a new Apple cord, so I figured I would order one from amazon. I know you order at your own risk, so I did a little research and found this one that was 6 feet long for only $3.50, which I thought was a deal. Not so much. I have a 3rd generation ipod touch, and it does not work with it at all. It will start to charge, then say that it is incompatible with the device. I tried plugging it into both my computer and the wall. Nothing works. Don't trust the description of the product when it says the cord will sync ipod touches, iPhone 3's, and 4's. My friend has an iPhone 3 and it does not work on hers either. She also has a 2nd generation ipod touch, and it works on this. My conclusion is that the cord won't work on anything newer than an 2nd generation ipod touch and is going straight back to amazon. Walmart may be my only hope now.

I bought this charger to replace my Dell charger for my 640M Inspiron laptop. It works fine to charge the battery but this Chinese aftermarket charger lacks the quality of the original. The cord is much shorter so I have to add an extension cord to reach the same outlets my OEM charger reached effortlessly before. The charger I got through Amazon.com is not like the one pictured on their site. It does not have a third prong in the plug, meaning it is not grounded. The 110V cord which plugs into the wall can easily be pulled from the charger body, this leaves the cable still attached to the wall outlet, an easy opportunity for a small toddler. Be careful with this charger around small children. In closing it does the job but I wish I had searched for the original replacement.

My boyfriend's battery for his laptop died, so after much consideration, I bought him this one as a replacement. The price was good and it works fine. However, I am somewhat disappointed with this product and wish that I'd paid for something a little better.

The head of the charger is a bit loose - if you knock it around too much, it'll fall right out. The charger also gets really, really hot when it's been in use for a long time, almost enough to burn. The cord is also quite a bit shorter than the original battery's was.

All in all, this charger did the job, but I would recommend buying something of a higher quality instead.

The adapter gets rid of the HP dv6 complaining that it needed a higher power adapter to reach full performance. However it causes a loud 60Hz buzz in the audio, the origional adapter that came with HP did not cause a buzz.

This buzz only happens when the new adapter is used with the headphone out hooked up to an amplifier through an audio switch which also has the TV audio on it.

So it seems that the new adapter causes a ground loop with the TV that is on the audio switch, which worked fine with the origional adapter.

In conclusion the new adapter works ok, just have to remove the TV audio connectors on the audio switch that goes to the amplifier. So beware of possible audio problems with some systems.

The adapter was a good buy even with the audio ground loop problem.

Pros:
- Works great, charges battery.
- Doesn't overheat, stays very cool. I've seen plenty of chargers that get too hot to even touch, so this was great.
Cons:
- Charger is 65w instead of the official one's 90w. This means the battery charges somewhat slower.
- The plug is an octagon shape. My Inspiron 1545's plug is a circle. It fits, but it has to be jammed in somewhat.

For the exceptionally low price, I'm actually fine with both of these, since I don't run the laptop off of battery all that often. But, do keep them in mind when purchasing.
