I bought one of these to replace a very cheap, poor quality and unsafe adapter that a client was using on their Dell Mini 10. It weighs about twice as much (just what did they cut out of the cheap one!?) and has a long, soft cord that you can actually get all the kinks out of. It's almost twice as long as the cheap one. The housing is of good quality plastic and finished nicely, much like an OEM one. The ferrite bead is about 10in from the plug so that it does not create a stress zone on the cable as it does on other adapters which put them very close to the plug. This adapter uses a 3 prong grounded cable with the standard cloverleaf plug on it, again superior to the cheap adapter which used a thin, ungrounded cable. Voltage regulation was right on around 19.08v.

The part that amazes me is that these sell for roughly the same price as the cheap junk adapters, maybe a few dollars more, but are much better quality. Remember that while seemingly boring, power adapters are the most important link in the chain for your laptop. They take high voltage AC with all kinds of fluctuations and variance and convert it down into what should be clean and stable DC. Just because you can make it work with half the parts that should be inside (as evidenced by many of the cheap adapters on the market) doesn't mean you should. Many of the adapters available are blatantly unsafe fire hazards and are unprotected so that they can easily fry your laptop when they fail.

Anker/LaptopMate has a good thing going with these, and for the first time I have found an aftermarket adapter I can actually recommend to clients instead of overpriced OEM ones.
