Being from a non-OEM source and less than 25% of the price of one, I knew better to have high expectations. My old charger started having problems due to constant use and bending and the contact on the converter became a bit loose. It's still functional, but I thought to buy a backup so that I wouldn't be stuck without my laptop if worse comes to worse. Now about this product: unlike the image shown, the charger I received was 2-prongs (which is fine by me, convenient for old buildings), the power cord was shorter and thinner than the OEM one I have, and the converter wire is also shorter. Expect about 3/4 of the length of the OEM charger. Also, the converter heats up significantly faster than the OEM one. Because I use a 8-cell battery, which requires longer charging time, the charger is hot to the touch by the time my battery's full. This never occurred with the OEM product. However, it has been functioning for the month I've been using it, and has not yet failed, which is all that I require. The specifications of the output voltage and current match the OEM. Like OEM, it also comes with a Velcro strap not shown in the default image. I attach a surge protector to both my chargers, so I do not know if they ever have surges that cause damages. I use this for my HP Pavilion dv4.
