As others pointed out, the wires coming out of the adapter will fray quickly and become a major hazard quite quickly. Mine actually managed to go a couple of months before that happened, and not the mere weeks that others experienced, but still, that's pretty shoddy workmanship.

Come on, companies - the world's landfills are filled with enough garbage already; you don't need to add to it by making stuff that is designed to break as fast as possible.

Show some ethics.

Because the manufacturer couldn't be bothered to reinforce a one or two inch section of wiring, the whole bloody thing has to be tossed.
