Our daughter's portable DVD player we use in the car on longer trips was working fine after nearly 2 years, even though it's just about the cheapest available, but the power cord, which had a really thin cord, had gotten squished quite a few times as it plugs into the interior of the console which is always being leaned on by passengers. This replacement has a thicker cord and has held up so far. It also plugs in more securely and has a little more traction to grab for pulling it out of the socket, too. I'd give it 5 stars except it's a little shorter than the old one, so doesn't have quite enough slack to hang completely out of the way of small, curious feet.
