I needed a new ac adapter to replace my year and a half old Gateway NV7915u ac adapter. The old adapter would no longer "stay put" when you plugged it into the laptop; it kept falling out. Over time, it wouldn't charge the battery or even power the laptop no matter how I twisted the cord to get it to stay in place.

I purchased this ac adapter from Battpit through Amazon and although there are a few things that are "not as good as the original" you can hardly complain about them due to the price you are going to pay for this compared to getting it from Gateway.

The differences from the original Gateway ac adapter are:

This Battpit power brick (the rectangular box) is about twice as big as the original. This brick is 5.25" X 2.5" X 1.5". The only negative impact about this that I can think of is that it will take up a little more space in your bag for the laptop.
This Battpit cord is about 9 feet in length whereas the original was 12 feet long.
This Battpit cord is two pronged not three like the original so it is not grounded.
This Battpit cord is not UL certified. If you are paranoid about UL certification Battpit does sell one for nearly 3 times the price of this one. Overall, this is one heck of a value!! The fixed u-tip fits nice and snugly into my laptop and doesn't fall out!! I have never had to deal with Battpit's customer service so I am hopeful they would honor their "30-Day Money Back Guarantee and a 1 Year Warranty". I hope that I will not need them but it feels good that they offer it as protection!

I am lovin' the ac adapter right now and if it lasts a year and a half, I will love it even more!!
