Don't let the price fool you, this power adapter is definitely a good deal.

This AC adapter has three things going for it, the fact that it doesn't get hot, the size and the price.

The power supply cord that came with my laptop got very hot as soon as it was plugged in. This replacement adapter can be plugged in for hours (more than ten) without getting more than mildly warm.

Some people might have issue with the cord length but it is perfect for me. It is a couple feet shorter than the cord that came with my laptop, but at a little over seven feet long it is sufficient for my needs and is a much better fit in my laptop bag.

The price is the icing on the cake. I shopped around town to find a new power cord and only found two places that carried them. The first store was $59.99 but it wasn't in stock and I would have had to order it and either pay for overnight shipping or wait a week until their next shipment. The second store was $99.99. At $3.99 plus shipping I was able to have this overnighted for under $30.00

The bottom line is that it is a great replacement. Do I care if it lasts forever? No. The cord that came with my computer lasted a little less than two years. If that is the average lifespan that I would much prefer to spend $3.99 every two years than $99.

This worked fine for a while, and it was WAY cheaper than replacing the original with an exact model. Down sides:

(1) My original power cord lasted about 2 years. This one only lasted about 9 months.
(2) This cord is way shorter than the original. Sometimes this was a problem.
(3) It got MUCH hotter than my original adapter did.

I was using this for a Toshiba Satellite A205 laptop.

I ordered this charger for my HP laptop in late December 2012. What I received was not as pictured (plug not grounded) and the unit failed after 6 months of the 12 month warranty. I asked the merchant for a refund, but they will not refund unless I send the defective charger back with tracking. It cost $4.16 to return the charger that I paid a little over $7 for (original shipping was free). Just purchased the HP branded charger on Amazon for $20 which I should have done the first time.
